The weeds with medicinal properties in segetal communities of Lower Silesia (Poland)

The aim of this paper is to present the actual and potential state of the occurrence of weed species with medicinal properties on the areas of Lower Silesia. The study carried out on many fields of Lower Sielesia, during 1954-02, comprised 112 weed species, that often occur on cultivated fields. Among those 112 species about 52 have medicinal properties (are herbs for pharmaceutical industry). The majority of those weeds-herbs occur on organic farming fields, fallows and poorly managed fields, where herbicides were not applied or their use was limited
