Usability of sequential extraction methods for assessment of effectiveness of phytoremediation of soil contaminated with copper and lead

The phytoremediation effectiveness of Cu and Pb contaminated soils was assessed on the basis of their real quantities in biomass harvest per ha. The content of each heavy metal was compared with its quantity in the mobile fraction and total value in 0-20 cm depth horizon. The Cu uptake by cabbage and grass harvest did not exceed 62.4 percent of its quantity in mobile fraction and 0.53 percent of its total content in all fractions. The Pb values amount: to 74.0 percent and 1.27 percent respectively
