Microbiological analysis of air in the in vitro cultures laboratories

The analyses of air were carried out in scientific and commercial laboratories of in vitro cultures, in spring and autumn. The quantitative and qualitative composition of microorganisms found in the air of the laboratories depended on the type of laboratory, place of sampling, and the time of analysis. The most often discovered were bacteria belonging to: Micrococcus / Sarcina / Staphylococcus and fungi: Alternaria, Aspergillus, Cladosporium, Paecilomyces, Penicillium, and Trichoderma. The results gave a basis for the conclusion that bacteria and fungal propagules present in the air of the laboratories are a source of the infections of plant material and media
