Biodiversity of rural areas in Poland including the diversity of ecosystems and species associated with agricultural grounds are presented in this context. Natural importance of grasslands and woodlots and the necessity of protecting the domestic genotypes of crop plants and farm animals are underlined. Applicable possibilities of protection these values in our country and the basic rules for their utilization are are given in regard to European policy
