The use of tissue culture-derived data and molecular data, combined with a multiple regression technique, enabled molecular marker associations with tissue-culture-related traits. Five of these markers were mapped to identify chromosomal regions important in the hormone physiology of rice. The identification of markers associated with hormone response in rice will allow the selection of accessions most amenable to tissue culture protocols.
