Effect of T. hamatum strain PC 02 on Chinese radish (Raphanus sativus var. longipinnatus) root growth was conducted by adding 7x10**(8), 21x10**(8), or 35x10**(8) spores of T. hamatum per pot into the planting medium and compared to the non-addition one. It was found that application of T. hamatum into the planting medium caused significantly better root growth than the control. Root growth gradually increased when the number of T. hamatum added was increased. As the 35x10**(8) spores of T. hamatum was applied, the fresh and dry weights of the root were increased 119.30 and 166.39 per cent, respectively, over the control.
