Effect of dilution rate and pH of chicken processing wastewater on the production of single cell protein by Candida tropicalis TISTR 5136
2000
Duangjai Ochaikul
Investigation of wastewater as a culture medium of Candida tropicalis TISTR 5136 and study the optimum condition of growth including dilution rate and pH. The result of this study appeared that wastewater which is undiluted and pH 4.5 is optimum condition. The specific growth rate is 0.0797 per hour the maximum dry cell matters 0.8446 grams per lit and reduced 67.20 percent COD. According to this condition, in the final chemical analysis, single cell protein is composed of 28.5 percent protein, 5.6 percent fat and 8.5 percent moisture.
