Effects of calcium sources on egg production and egg shell quality of laying hens

Experiment was conducted to determine dietary calcium sources on egg production and egg shell quality of laying hens. 144-Dekalb Warren were fed broken rice-soy bean meal-fish meal diets containing calcium as oyster shell, limestone+0.75 percent vegetable oil, limestone+3.0 percent vegetable oil and gypsum. Egg production performance was significantly decreased (P=0.05) when gypsum supplied. Egg weight was not adversely affected with dietary calcium sources.
