Performance test of solar air heaters for agricultural drying applications

Two type of solar air heaters for agricultural drying application were tested; two identical perforated absorber collectors and five different versions of roof type collectors. In the case of perforated absorber collectors, the instantaneous performances under the sun light were compared to those tested under the artificial sun light. Determination of combined coefficient of heat exchanger between the working fluid and absorber, and the transmitivity-absorptivity \{(tau alpha)nFR\}, and combined coefficient FR of and of total heat loss of the collector \{FRUL\} had been done. For the roof type solar collector, the means of a long period performanced (7.5 hour per trial) at a low flow rate had been tested. Objectives of this research are aimed to give a good basis for improving the production of vegetable and animal product through drying.
