Several developments in Ghana's forestry sctor have in recent years, contibuted to the need for the forest industry to become involved in the sustainable management of the forest resource. The most important of these are the dwindling forest resource and the introduction of new and stringent regulations that make fewer trees available to the growing industry. this paper describes an attempt being made by a company with a sizeable investment in the timber industry to secure its investment by contibuting to the sustenance of the forest in order to ensure future raw materials availability.
