New theory of interaction of root cleaner with the surface of root crop heads during the cleaning process in stands has been proposed. The mathematical model and schemes of the process of interaction of root cleaner and root head fixed on the control rod with the horizontal fulcrum pin has been analysed. A case when the angle of cleaner rotation is located strictly along the rows of root crops has been analysed
