Preservation and strenghthening the positions of Belarus in the world market of a flax fiber and linen textiles is directly connected with increasing the competitiveness of our production. The status and tendencies of development of flax-processing industry is considered. Opportunities of increase competitiveness of domestic flax fiber and linen textiles, and also a role of the state support of the enterprises cultivating and processing flax in overcoming of the crisis in linen branch are analyzed
