Selection of mutants producing from 10 up to 19,0 g/l of L-isoleucine in the conditions of periodical cultivation on mineral nutrient media was realized on the basis of prototrophic revertant spontaneously selected from the culture dependent on the homoserine Corynebacterium glutamicum bacteria by means of N-methyl-N-nitro-N-nitrozoguanidine and further multistage selection to the increasing concentration of O- methylthreonine (from 4 up to 10 microgram/ milliliter). Mutant Corynebacterium glutamicum 17 generating up to 19,0 g/l of L-isoleucine was notable for the low level of synthesis of attendant amino acids and was recommended for application in large-capacity production
