Yield and quality of different alfalfa [Medicago sativa L.] varieties

The objective of this study was to analyze the agronomic value of 11 foreign varieties and 4 domestic population in comparation with domestic cultivars K-22 and Novosadjanka. Investigation of green and dry matter yield was carried out during the second and third years of vegetation. Quality parameters was determined on samples from the second year of vegetation. The results showed a significant differences between investigated varieties. Varieties which were obtained yield as standard cultivars could be include in next cycle of breeding as a divergent gene donors.
