In this work was examined influence of 10 highly effective breeds of Azotobacter chroococcum on activity of nitrogenase in soil and influence on potato crops of sorts Lizeta and Latona grown in field conditions. There has been also examined percentage of nitrogen in soil for both sorts of potato and for all examined variants. There have been inoculated 10 variants of seed potatoes with 10 different sorts of azotobacter, without fertilization. One variant was not fertilized nor inoculated, and three variants have been treated with different quantity of NPK (15:15:15) fertilizer (30, 60, 90 kg/ha). Application of azotobacter in soil influenced the increase of nitrogenase activity and increase of crops for both sorts of potato. Sort Lizeta realised higher crop compared to sort Latona. Percentage of nitrogen in soil have shown tendency for increase during vegetation for both sorts of potatoes. Examined soil belongs to the group of soils rich with nitrogen (0.2-0.3%).
