Comparison of analyses of winegrowing and wine-production in the Czech Republic, the EU, and South Africa

Wine production, sales and consumption in the Czech Republic are compared with those of other European countries (especially France) and South Africa. The area of vineyards in the Czech Republic has increased to 19,261.5 hectares and the number of wine producers to 18,292 by 1 May 2004. Since 1994, wine consumption has increased to the actual level of about 16 L per capita and year. The trend is to consume quality wines.
