Irrigation control at green-house plants with computer-aided image-analysis
2005
Font, L. | Farkas, I.
An optical drought stress measuring system was developed based on the visual appearences of plants. Machine vision was used to quantify water stress of plants from side projected canopy images. An image analyzing program calculates the leaf inclination state of plants, expressed in degrees at every hour during the experiments. To prevent water stress and to ensure the wellness of the plants, a tolerable wilting rate can be set by the user. An irrigation pump was turned on automatically by the machine vision system in order to water the plants when the wilting rate was not tolerable.
