To evaluate the efficiency of solar energy generation device as the energy source of aerating equipment of composting system, composting test different in aeration time were conducted. Cow wastes adjusted to three moisture content (60, 65 and 70%) were aerated either 8 hours in daytime (8H-aeration) or continuous 24 hours (24H-aeratino). The initial increase of fermentation temperature were delayed, however, average temperature maintained higher in 8H-aeratin compared to 24H-aeration. After 4 weeks of aeration period, compost temperature increased rapidly for 8H-aeration compared to 24H-aeration. Additionally, according to a trial calculation, there was possibility of drastic cost cutting. The combination of solar energy generation and 8 hours aeration were useful.
