Aizu-Jidori and Fukushima Aka-Shamo are fairly wide spread in Fukushima prefecture as commercial chicken. The pistillate parent of these commercial chickens is same Rhode Island Red (P11 line). Therefore, it is necessary for pistillate parent to improve the Umami component. Body weight: Heritability of maternal half sibs estimated 0.620 that is higher than paternal half sibs. Heritability of full sibs estimated 0.356. Inosinic acid content: Heritability of maternal half sibs estimated 0.367 that is higher than paternal half sibs. Heritability of full sibs estimated 0.231. Glutamic acid content: Heritability of paternal half sibs estimated 0.552 that is higher than maternal half sibs. Heritability of full sibs estimated 0.301. Allowing for these results, it seems that many genetic information necessitate to estimate genetic parameter.
