Statistial analysis of QT interval using bootstrap method in long term electrocardiographic monitoring in monkey

The significance of QT interval changes in electrocardiograms has been interested in toxicological studies for new drug development for past 10 years. This is due to the withdrawal of some drugs from the market because the adverse effects of prolongation of the QT interval and the resultant polymorphic ventricular tachycardia called torsade de pointes. Therefore, the investigation of QT interval changes in toxicological studies has potential value. The QT interval and the RR interval change each other positively and show nonlinear relationship in electrocardiographic monitoring in human, dog and monkey. In this report, we review a bootstrap method as a statistical analysis of non-parametric data of QT interval in long term electrocardiographic monitoring in monkey.
