A new soybean cultivar "Daemang" was released by the National Crop Experiment Station, RDA, in 2003. This cultivar was derived form the cross between Jangyeobkong and Seokryangputkong, the elite breeding line with large seed, in the summer season, 1991. The breeding line, SS91306-8-2-2, was selected and evaluated in yield trials from 1998 to 2000 at the National Crop Experiment Station, Suwon. Regional yield trials for this line, designated as Suwon 217, were performed from 2001 to 2003 over nine locations. Daemang has a determinate growth habit, white flower color, grey pubescence, yellow testa and yellow hilum color.
