The role of subsoil irrigation in increasing water retention in small river valleys

Studies were undertaken in a small valley reclamation object on environmental friendly water management which consisted in regulated water outflow during the whole year and subsoil irrigation during the vegetative period. These measures enabled to increase soil retention, protection of soils from degradation and the increase of yields of meadow vegetation
