The main objective of this research is to prove the existence of a relationship and a reciprocity effect between the performance of the company and the efficiency of its personnel. A further objective, which is a natural follow up to the main objective, is to determine the best practices to apply in human resource management in order to achieve a firm's goals and to assure its success. The data were gathered through extensive interviews conducted in the agricultural research companies in Tunisia. The final aim of this paper is to identify the appropriate way to manage human resources in order to sustain a competitive advantage and guaranty a firm's success.
