Combining ability of malting barley varieties for water content in leaves

The investigation was carried out during 2000-2002 on drought resistant F1 winter malting barley hybrids developed from full diallel combination. The general and specific combining ability of the parental components according to the character water content in leaves was studied. High drought resistance was demonstrated by varieties andrdquo;Kt 288andrdquo;, andrdquo;Nutants 85242/64andrdquo; and andrdquo;Daniloandrdquo;.andrdquo;Kt 288andrdquo; had very good general combining ability.
