Application of in vitro cultures in soybean (Glycine max) to study abiotic stress factors

Abiotic stress is an important factor influencing soybean yield in Bulgaria. In vitro screening methods could be applied for accelerating the breeding process. Polyethylene glycol and sodium chloride were used for simulation of drought and salinity in callus cultures of soybean cv. andrdquo;Hodsonandrdquo;. PEG and NaCl concentrations affecting calli growth were determined. Evaluation of the suitability of different selective agents for in vitro modeling was evaluated.
