In a survey to identification of endoparasitic nematodes associated with potato 43, 43, 46 and 132 soil, root samples and even though occasionally tuber samples were collected from different potato fields in west-Azarbayejanm, Boushehr, Tehran and Semnan provinces respectively. The samples were analyzed for nematode extraction by using common nematology methods and the obtained nematodes were mounted and identified by valid references. Three species of endoparasitic nematodes principally belonging to root lesion nematodes were identified in west Azarbayejan province i. e. Pratylenchus neglectus, P. thornei and P. scribneri. Six species were identified in Tehran province i. e. P. brachyurus, P. neglectus, P. thornei, Zygotylenchus guevarai, Meloidogyne javanica and Ditylenchus destractor. Five species were identified in Semnan province i. e. P. neglectus, P. thornei, Z. guevarai, M. javanica and D. destructor. No endoparasitic nematode was obtained from the collected samples in Boushehr province. The root lesion nematodes were the most frequent endoparasitic nematodes because of their distribution, abundance and population density. Population densities of root lesion nematodes ranged from 30 to 900, 10 to 180 and 10 to 1800 in West Azarbayejan, Semnan and Tehran provinces respectively with a median infestation of 137, 45 and 292/500 ml soil. The percentage of infestation was 62%, 87% and 54% in West Azarbayejan, Semnan and Boushehr respectively. Further work need to be done to determine the role of root lesion nematodes in yield losses on potato in these provinces.
