Investigation of the effect of chemical thinning on the quantity and quality of Apricot fruits.

One of the important problems in production of high quality apricot of fresh or industrial uses is high productivity. Accumulation of fruit on tree is cause to decrease quality. So carried out a study for removal of this problem. At this research effects of thinning times and different concentrations of carbaryl (sevin 85%) was investigated on productivity of Gorban – e – Maragheh cv. Treated cultivar of this material in different stages of fruit ripening showed different reactions. Comparison of treatments showed significant difference (P1%). This cultivar in concentrations of 3000 ppm used 15 day after full bloom (across thickness : 7mm) fell almost 30% of unripe fruits. Size and color quality of fruits in this treatment was one class better than others. Sugar percentage wasn’t significant in any treatments. Results of chemical and handling treatments had same effect on quantity and quality of fruits.
