英语. The problem of low efficiency of the coconut embryo culturetechnique is discussed and analyzed. Early modifications on the embryoculture protocol which have improved its efficiency to some extent are reviewed. Arecently completed study on acclimatization techniques is discussed. it showed that keeping newly transplanted seedling under mist during their first three months in the greenhouse could increase percentage of seedling survival from 0-30% to 85-100%. An initial potting medium consisting of white sand: soil-compost mix (1:1v/v) could give 100% seddling survival and produce faster-growing and more vigorous seedlings. State of the art of coconut embryo culture that includes all useful modifications is summarized. On going researches in improving the efficiency of the protocol for the in-vitro phase of embryo culture are also reported.
