Influence of food on polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) content in forest podzol soil

The study was aimed at evaluation of flood effect on polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) content in forest podzol soil. The content of both 16 PAH sum and individual PAH forms depended on soil type. In the last sampling term both in control soil and in flooded soil an increase in PAH sum reaching 50 and 26 percent respectively was noted. In both soils increase in total PAHs was determined by 4-, 5- and 6-ring compunds. Different range of PAH content changes in investigated soils was most probably related with their physico-chemical properties
