2003
Blagojevic, M. | Mitrovic, M.
The selected walnut type 2000/4, whose seedlings were compared to the seedlings of some walnut cultivars and types, were used as a material in this study. In terms of all the assessed properties, walnut type 2000/4 proved to be superior to other types and cultivars studied. The greatest difference was observed in germination, accounting for 94%. In addition, vegetative growth was substantially higher as related to other cultivars and types, which is of paramount importance for walnut grafting. The major property - root neck thickness - was siginificantly out of accord as compared to other cultivars and types studied, averaging 14.6 mm, whereas the remaining two traits of vegetative growth had proper values. The height of above ground part and root length accounted for 33.8 cm, i.e. 44.3 cm, respectively.
