The main purpose of this paper is evaluation of volume, dynamics and trends in meat consumption of the Balkan region, with a special attention being given to consumption in Serbia. The authors are stressing out the most significant factors which have determined consumption and condition differences in their level in some parts of Region. Meat consumption represents one of the main indicators of life standard of inhabitants of certain countries.
