The evaluation of mutant lines (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) by their productivity properties

Eighteen mutant lines of Phaseolus vulgaris L. obtained by the seed treatment with chemical mutagens (EMS and NEU) were studied. Mutant lines were M8 generation. Nine productivity properties - height and weight of plants, the first pod height, number of fruit branches, pods and seeds per plant, weight of seeds, length of pods and yield were investigated. The cluster analysis of components were applied for data elaboration. The greatest genetic distance was recorded in mutant lines 6, 18, 3 and 16. The number of pods, fruit branches, the first pod height, seed weights and pod lengths were the most useful traits for the evaluation of good mutant breeding lines.
