The protection of fruits from pests and other disease agents in organic fruit production is carried out without applying synthetic substances, but by growing resistant species and cultivars, by applying biological and botanical pesticides, and Bt toxins, as well as visual and pheromone traps. Organic fruit production is based on natural processes without the application of synthetic substances, pesticides, fertilizers, additives in the processing and other substances, the presence of which would possibly endanger the status of biologically non-contaminated food.
