Characteristics of selected sour cherry clones in cultivar Montmorency

The cultivar Montmorency belongs to the group of old cultivars, and it is prone to mutations due to a long-term growing. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out positive clonal selection in order to select genotypes with improved characteristics. The aim of this study was to examine selected clones and to establish differences among them, based in the analysis of variance and the individual LSD-test. Based on analysis of variance for properties such as pollen germination, fruit, stone, fruit stem and leaf characteristics, and very significant differences between investigated clones, year of investigation and the clone x year interaction were established. Obtained results distinguish the cole 14 can, because it had the largest fruits and the largest leaf surface.
