Effect of treatment of spring barley stands with pesticides on yield height and grain quality

In years 1999-2001 on locality Borovce (near by Piestany town, western part of the Slovak Republic) under rain fed conditions the small plot field trials with three spring barley varieties (Orbit, Kompakt, Atribut) were established in order to study the effect of selected herbicides and fungicides on the yield and quality of the barley grain. The locality is situated in fertile lowland region in very warm and slightly dry climatic zone with continental weather character. The trials were established after silage maize (sowing rate of 4.5 millions of germinable grains per a hectare). In spring artificial fertilizers were applied in doses calculated according to the soil analysis and expected grain yield of 6 t per ha.
