The morfological and qualitative properties of an assortment of tomatoes were studied over 2000-2002. Twenty four tomato varieties grown in research field plots were utilized for investigation. The evaluation focused on a description of plant and fruit characteristics including leaves, inflorescence, fruit firmness and weight, content of refractometrical dry matter, vitamin C, etc. The characteristics obtained are used for choosing a method for tomato cultivation, for further research, for a solution to genetic resources, as well as in tomato breeding process. The results achieved have been saved as a component of the plant genetic resources database.
