Effects of age and breeding levels on hoof problem in Holstein-Friesian (HF) crossbred dairy cattle were studied at Chiang Mai Livestock Research and Breeding Center. Ninety-one dairy cattle from birth through 7.5 years old were analyzed. Hoof defects effected by age, contingency coefficient was 0.36 and highly significant. Interdigital wound, sole ulcer and sole contusion were mostly found in groups which younger than 5 years of age and double sole appeared in older cows. Cows up from 75 percent HF tended to have more hoof problem than cows lower than 75 percent HF.
