Determination of ileal digestible coefficient of some major feedstuffs on caecetomized cockerel
2005
La Van Kinh | Huynh Thanh Hoai
A trial was conducted in 40 cockerels to determine the ME value; digestible coefficient of protein and endogenous loss of corn, broken rice, rice bran, cassava, fish meal, roasted full fat soybean meal, soybean meal, groundnut meal, sesame meal, meat meal and corn gluten with 5 pens/treatment, 2 birds/pen and 12 days stretch. The result showed that AME values of energy rich sources fluctuated from 3209 kcal/kg for corn to 2665 kcal/kg for rice bran and TME values were 2.1 to 3.1 percent higher than that of AME. For protein rich sources, AME values of plant origin ingredients fluctuated from 2346 of Indian soybean meal to 3549 kcal/kg of FFSBM and 3696 kcal/kg of corn gluten; meanwhile AME values of animal origin ingredients fluctuated from 2462 kcal/kg of meat and bone meal to 2725 kcal/kg of Peru fish meal. TME values of these ingredients were 1.4 to 2.97 percent higher than AME values. Apparent digestible coefficient of protein of energy rich ingredients fluctuated from 64.38 percent in rice bran to 74.23 percent in broken rice and true digestible coefficient were 72.88 percent in rice bran to 82.51 percent in broken rice. Apparent digestible coefficient of protein of protein rich ingredients fluctuated from 71.44 percent in miscellaneous fish meal to 85.71 percent in corn gluten and true digestible coefficient were 76.22 percent in miscellaneous fish meal to 89.78 percent in corn gluten.
