Obtaining of new halogen substituted 2-styryl-5,7-dichloro-8-acetyloxiquinolines as a potential growth stimulators in animal husbandry

New unknown 7 compounds of halogen substituted 2-styryl-5,7-dichloro-8-acetyloxiquinolines were obtained by interaction between 2-methyl-5,7-dichloro-8-hydroxyquinoline and halogen substituted aromatic aldehydes in a medium of acetic anhydride and in the presence of anhydrous sodium acetate at temperature 160-165 0C. The yields of the new compounds vary from 42% to 92% compared to the theoretical values. In the preliminary microbiological screening, tested on 6 strains of pathogenic microorganismus, some of the compounds showed bacteriostatic effect similar or higher than the starting 2-methyl-5,7-dichloro-8-hydroxyquinoline(chlorquinaldol) against Bacillus anthracis and Listeria monocytogenes.
