At present in the Republic of Belarus the local pollution of peat soils by lead is observed. Such soils are, first of all in the roadside strips directly adjoining to arterial high-way. Level of contamination of peat soils by lead in the Republic of Belarus was estimated. Gradations and approximately admissible concentrations (AAC) of total and mobile Pb in peat soils based on 4 criteria of damage (phytotoxicity, phytotransiocation, quality of obtained production, biological soil state) were worked out. AAC of total Pb in peat soils has makes 40 mg/kg, mobile Pb – 30 mg/kg. On the basis of generalization of results of research with fodder grasses ranking numbers on degree of accumulation of lead are made: a clover meadow meadow fescue bromus inermis timothy meadow. So clover meadow and meadow fescue (from cereal grasses) are capable to absorb metal in greater quantities than bromus inermis and timothy meadow. By results of experiences factors of intensity of absorption of lead for fodder grasses are calculated (ratio of the content of metal in plants cultivated on polluted soils, to its concentration in plants which have been grown up on control variants). According to calculations, factors of intensity of absorption of lead for these plants (at level of pollution by lead of 100 mg/kg) makes 2,1 and 1,9 accordingly
