[Efficiency of fertilizers under corn on podzoluvisol loam sandy soil polluted with 137Cs and 90Sr]

Yearly application of mineral fertilizers in doses N90+30P90K150-210 on the background 60 t/ha of littering manure (once in three years) allowed to receive in 2005-2007 the high corn grain yield 50-60 c/ha (on the average) and green mass 500-600 c/ha of maize on the middle cultivated connected sandy soil laying by loam from the depth of 1 m. Application of fertilizers doses mentioned above was accompanied by reducing of 137Cs (in 1.4 – 1.6 times) and 90Sr (in 2.1 – 2.2 times) accumulation in green mass of maize. Balanced mineral fertilizer N90+30P90K210 allows to enlarge a range of maize cultivation on green feed for dairy cattle up to density of soil pollution 90Sr – 25 kBq/square m. At one-sided application of nitrogen fertilizers or manure green mass of maize was not suitable for dairy cattle feeding because of exceeding of 90Sr standard concentration at density of soil pollution 90Sr – 15 kBq/square m. Accumulation of radionuclides 90Sr in grain crop decreased in 1.3 – 2.7 times at increase in doses of potash fertilizer in range K90-210 on the background N90+30P90. Concentrations of 137Cs and 90Sr in corn grain corn are very low and there is no restriction for growing fodder grain on the land contaminated with mentioned radionuclides
