[Conditions and the ways of improving the scientific bases of animal breeding branches]

Conditions and the ways of improving the scientific bases of animal breeding branches is concerned with the analysis of animal breeding and the potential of the feed base in the Republic of Belarus; the factors restraining the intensification of animal breeding are stated. On the basis of the analysis of the Belarusian scientific developments, the genetic animal potential and the natural feed resources of further ways of scientific support of animal breeding are determined. In connection with necessity of increase of efficiency of domestic animal industries before zootechnical and related sciences rise new challenges: in the field of animal breeding research and development on perfection of systems of large-scale selection with use of mathematical methods of modelling and the analysis of the information on world genetic resources with connection to Internet network should be strengthened; it is necessary to make active research on problems of reproduction the animals based on data on physiology and endocrinology as low productivity causes essential damage of branch; it is necessary to give special value to development of research in the field of biotechnology of agricultural animals, gene and cellular engineering as selection of agricultural animals in 21st century in a greater degree will be based on results of scientific development. Reception of transgenic agricultural animals allows directionally tochange parameters of metabolism, faster rates to raise productivity by faster rates and to improve quality of livestock products. Methods of gene engineering give an unique opportunity to solve the most urgent problem of creation of animals, genetically steady against a number of diseases. The cardinal problem of basic research in zootechnology is the problem of increase in output of protein of animal origin, the irreplaceable factor of human nutrition and decrease in fat production, first of all in meat of animals; a weak place of domestic animal industries is its bad adaptedness to conditions of the market
