The content and behaviour of metribuzin in main agricultural crops and its migration along soil profile after metribuzin - containing preparations application for annual dicotyledonous and grass weeds control is studied. As a result of many years research it is determined that by observation the recommended periods of application, rates and number of treatments metribuzin active ingredient does not contaminate the agricultural production. By investigating the possibilities of metribuzin migration along soil profile it is determined that the active ingredient does not penetrate into the depth lower than the arable layer and, so, being not a potentially dangerous source of contamination for ground and sewage waters. At the same time, the created on soil surface after metribuzin - containing preparations screen creates purity of potato and other agricultural crop plantings in relation to annual dicotyledonous and grass weeds
