The success of sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata) production depends on the high yield of ears and the sweetness of the ears. This experiment aimed to study the effect of potassium and liquid organic fertilizer to the yield and quality of sweet corn. The experiment was carried out in Pandesari village, Pujon, Malang, on April until June 2002 with average daily temperature 20-25 deg. C in Andisol soil. The experiment used split plot design with two factors. The first factor was liquid organic fertilizer as main plot with 3 levels, D0 = 0 l/ha, D2 = 3 l/ha, D2 = 6 l/ha, and the second factor was potassium fertilizer with 4 levels application, K0 = 0 kg KCl/ha, K1 = 150 kg KCl/ha, K2 = 300 kg KCl/ha, K3 = 450 kg KCl/ha. The result showed that there was no interaction between potassium and liquid organic fertilizer treatment on growth and yield but potassium fertilizer has a significant effect to increase the yield. It still unable to know the optimum dosage of potassium fertilizer because it had a linier respon. The use of liquid organic fertilizer had no significant effect on almost all parameters, except on sweetness.
