Pubic and abdominal span; comb height and width and wattle length of two long-term selected strains (PL1 and PL2) and a control line (PL3) of White Leghorn were studied from 16 to 52 weeks of age. Strain PL2, in general, had higher pubic and abdominal span than strain PL1. The differences between the two strains for comb height and width were non-significant but wattle length of strain PL1 was higher. Selected strain PL2 had higher measurements of pubic and abdominal span than control line upto 40 weeks age and thereafter control line had higher pubic span than strain PL2. The selected strain PL2 had higher comb height than unselected strain at all the ages. The pubic and abdominal span pooled over the two selected strains was higher than the control line upto 40 weeks of age but thereafter the control had higher measurements. However, the comb height of the high producing selected strains was higher than the unselected control line. The differences between the control and selected stains for comb width and wattle length were non-significant. All measurements increased linearly upto 24 weeks of age, and thereafter, these measurements remained static. The results indicated the existence of inter-strain variability for various measurements. Selection for egg productivity has altered various body measurements.
