Total 26 recently calved animals with symptoms of periparturient disease were divided in 3 groups with 12 in gr I having mild fatty infiltration, 8 in gr II having moderate fatty infiltration and 6 in gr III with severe fatty infiltration. These animals revealed low levvels of glucose, total protein, albumin and globulin whereas activity of AST was elevated. The changes were more severe in gr III.
