In order to study the effect of cutting and seed rates on the seed yield of sainfoin an expriment was carried out for three years (2002-2004) in split plot design with three replications in Chartakhteh resesarch station in Shahrekord. Two cutting regime were considered as main plots and four seed rates (30- 60-90-120) kg/ha were considered as subplots. In (2003) the first cut did not produce seed because flowers damged by cold at the second year. The first cut produced more seed than the second cut but the seed yield of second cut at two years was more than the first cut seed rates did not have siginficant effect on seed yield over two years of study . In this study there was positive correlation between seed yield and number of pod/head.
