Cloridazone, Desmedifam and cycloat from pyridazinone, phenylcarbamates and tio-carbamates have been used in sugar beet cropping since many years ago in Iran. However there are some unpublished reports complaining malfunction of these herbicides. This suggests that either local ormulation has no good quality or resistance has been developed in some specific weeds. Therefore an investigation was conducted to find the answer. The experiment was laid out in a Complete Randomized Block Design. Local as well as original formulations of Cloridazone, Desmedifam and cycloat were sprayed on two suspected (collected from fields with 7 years of continuous sugar beet cropping and herbicide application) as well as susceptible ecotype of Amaranthus reteroflexus and Chenopodium album in Khorasan, Fars and Azarbayjan (Chenopodium album and Malva neglecta in Khozestan). Results revealed that there was no evolution of resistance in these species. However local f ormulations were not able to control weeds under study.
