Study of varieties and lines of rice in crossing blocks and first generation (F1) planting
2004
Nourozi, Mohammad
To study of genetic diversity and transfering superior traits (number of grains/ panicle, panicle length, the plant of height, physicochemical and acceptable as Basmti rice and local varietes)for releasing the new improved varieties, 114 Iranian and foreign cultivars were grown as parents for hybridization programs, revival, identification and better understand of parents as to morphology traits(size grain, plant of height, number tiller and al. So) and physicochemical (amylos content, gel consistency, gelatinzation temperature and other traits). All of these varieties were seeded and transplanted in three dates (15 days interval), due to synchronously of flowering and doing of more crossing. The number of 73 hybrid carried out in 2002, obtained seeds were planted and growth factors were estimated (the plant of height, number of full grains/ panicle, panicle length) from first generation in 2003. In order to obtain the varieties with high yield, high- using fertilizser and semidwarf, therefore, were done crossing between local vareities with improvement and introduction varieties. The number of 58 crossed from nemat, neda and Tarom cultivars with a few lines were done in which these lines were excellent for some traits quantitive and quality. In this study have been used some breeding method like single cross, three way cross, double cross and back cross. The thrteen population second generation (as F2) were selected from 58 first generation. This population have some of charactrestics as number of grains/ panicle of good, long grain and chalkiness of endosperm.
