During 2001-2003, experiments were conducted to identify fungal agents of corn ear and kernel in Qazvin. Sampling was done at ear formation stage to harvesting time from infected ears and kernels of corn in different fields of Bashariat, Sharif Abad, Gheshlagh, Esmaeal Abad areas and Around of Abiec and Qazvin. Then, isolation, purfication and identification of isolated fungi were done by conventional methods. Fifity eight different isolates belonging to 5 genera of fungi were isolated from rotted ears. Pathogenecity tests were performed using "Nail punch"and injection methods on intact ears in experimental plot at Feiz Abad research station.Based on above methods, it was found that Fusarium moniliforme,F.proliferatum, F. graminearum, Aspergillus niger, Penicillium spp., Rhizopus stolonifer and Aspergillus spp. were pathogenic on intact ears and indicated typical symptoms. For Ustilago maydis, result of pathogenecity test was observed as formation of young and small galls at the end of ear. In this research, Ustilago maydis, causal agent of common smut of corn was identified as dominat fungal agent of corn in Qazvin region and after it Fusarium moniliforme was placed in secondary grade of importance and had further dispersion in fields. Other fungi in spite of isolating, had limited dispersion and importance.
